Remembrance Day

Rememberance Day

Sponsorship

Nine Local Primary Schools are involved in presenting school projects about Remembrance Day and are displayed in the rsl for viewing by members and guests this takes place approx one week prior to Remembrance Day.

A student from each school wins a sponsorship that contributes towards their education.

About 50 of the students who’ve participated in the remembrance projects also attend the remembrance ceremony.

On the 11th November @ 11.00am a service is held at the lone pine tree at the Cenotaph, Clayton Rd, Clayton for RSL members, the general public and students from the participating primary schools.

After the service its back to the rsl where the President Ray Scott presents awards to the children and then followed by lunch.

Anzac Day

Anzac Day

Dawn Service is conducted in front of the monument outside the RSl where wreaths are layed by councilors, politicians and members of the community, after the service a gun fire breakfast is held in the club rooms. Later in the day two – up takes place in the George Foster Room.

This year Mother’s Day High Tea was held in the George Foster Room.

This year Father’s Day is a smorgasbord lunch in the bistro beginning at 12pm.

Every dad gets a free crownie.
